GTS 6th Annual Open House — Heating Up!

Who: All GTS Sales Agents, Consultants, and Referral Partners

What: Open House – this is our premier GTS event every year. This one promises to be the biggest and best yet. It is the one day every year we ask our partners to come spend ½ a day at our office. In return, we offer action-packed, specialized content for our GTS sales community.

What can you expect from this year’s Open House?

  • Over 20 service providers set up in a trade show format for discussions and networking.
  • An expert speaking panel for our keynote event.
  • Amazing door prizes and giveaways all day long.
  • Great food all day, and a Happy Hour Bar in the late afternoon.

Oh, What a Night — GTS Outing at DCFC

Looking for something new to try with family or friends? Well, then look no further than Keyworth Stadium in nearby Hamtramack, MI and the semi-pro NPSL Soccer Team, Detroit City FC. GTS staff and friends watched a game on Friday, May 24th from one of the newly completed “Shipping Container” Suites. While the game played out in a draw, all guests in attendance were “winners” and a great time was had by all! Watch future newsletters as we will definitely be doing it again this summer.

SMB Security — It’s Not Just a “Big Company” Concern!

In 2019, there has been an explosion in the Indirect Channel for both opportunity and booked sales for a full variety of cybersecurity products and solutions. While GTS was busy closing deals with partners, we apparently missed an opportunity — our own office! While we had all of the basic security measures (i.e. new firewall, weekly patch/virus management, new equipment, etc.), there were a number of holes still. Unfortunately, a phishing attack occurred (from LGA in New York…public WIFI network from an airport strikes again!) and GTS quickly saw productivity screech to a halt as we spent over 24 hours in remediation mode. It caused both business disruption and embarrassment as we went scrambling to get things fixed. The end result? GTS purchased both O365 Threat Protect as well as Advanced Threat Protection (Sold via CloudRoute). GTS quickly set up and advanced network scanning using a subscription for VSS (Virtual Scanning) from vendor partner Digital Defense (sold via AT&T). Lastly, GTS is adding IBM MaaS360 (sold via AT&T) to bolster security and network administration for all of our mobile devices/endpoints that have corporate access. These are products that EVERY SINGLE ONE of your SMB customers should purchase in 2019. Pick 5 customers you haven’t talked to in the past 2 months, and give them a call!
